International Patients

Women travel to Istanbul from the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, the Gulf and Australia. Our coordinators organise every stage of the journey, so you can focus on your decision and your recovery.

Before You Travel

Your journey begins with a confidential enquiry. Tell us what you would like to change, improve or understand, and share any relevant medical history. You can securely upload photographs, previous reports or test results — or simply start with a conversation with a patient coordinator.

Before you book anything, you will know who your specialist is, which hospital is proposed, how long you are likely to stay and what your recovery is expected to involve.

  1. 1

    Confidential Enquiry

Tell us what you would like to change or understand. You can securely send photographs, your medical history or existing reports — or simply start with a conversation.

  2. 2

    Medical Assessment

A patient coordinator reviews your information and directs your case to an appropriate specialist for an initial medical assessment, often by video consultation.

  3. 3

    Specialist Recommendation

A physician assesses your case before any operation is recommended. Sometimes the right advice is a different approach, a staged plan — or no treatment at all.

  4. 4

    Personalised Treatment Plan

You receive a written plan setting out the proposed treatment, hospital, doctor, recommended stay in Istanbul and the estimated recovery process.

  5. 5

    Travel to Istanbul

Transfers, accommodation and appointments are coordinated before you arrive. You meet your surgeon in person, and pre-operative tests are completed before surgery is confirmed.

  6. 6

    Treatment & Aftercare

Treatment takes place in a private hospital, followed by post-operative checks in Istanbul, a written recovery plan and structured remote follow-up when you return home.

Medical Assessment

Your coordinator directs your case to an appropriate specialist — a plastic surgeon, a gynaecologist experienced in aesthetic gynaecology or a dental specialist, depending on your goals. The specialist reviews your information and, in most cases, speaks with you by video consultation.

An operation is never recommended before a physician has assessed your case. Your specialist may request additional information or tests at home, and may advise a different approach, a staged plan or no treatment at all.

Treatment Plan

You receive a personalised written plan describing the proposed treatment, the specialist responsible for your care, the hospital, the expected hospital stay, the recommended length of stay in Istanbul and the estimated recovery process. The plan also lists what is included and what is not.

Take the time you need. Ask questions, share the plan with your own doctor and make a decision only when you feel fully informed.

Flights

Istanbul is served by two international airports — Istanbul Airport (IST) on the European side and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) on the Asian side — with direct connections from many cities in Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

We recommend booking flexible tickets where possible. Your return date depends on your procedure and your surgeon’s assessment before departure, and long flights soon after surgery increase the risk of blood clots.

Airport Arrival

A private driver can meet you on arrival and take you directly to your hotel. Your coordinator will be in touch by WhatsApp from the moment you land, and will confirm the timing of your consultation and pre-operative tests.

Accommodation

Premium hotel accommodation can be arranged close to your hospital, chosen for comfort, privacy and practicality during recovery. Some patients prefer a serviced apartment for longer stays. You are also welcome to make your own arrangements.

Hospital Admission

Depending on the surgeon and procedure, treatments may be performed at leading private hospitals in Istanbul, including LIV Hospital Vadistanbul, Memorial Bahçelievler and selected Acıbadem hospitals. Before surgery you meet your surgeon in person, complete pre-operative tests and an anaesthesia evaluation, and sign consent only once your questions have been answered.

An interpreter can be arranged for consultations and your hospital stay where needed, alongside our English-speaking coordinators.

Surgery Day

On the day of surgery you will receive fasting and medication instructions in advance. Your surgeon and anaesthetist see you before the operation. Afterwards you are monitored in recovery and on the ward until you meet the hospital’s discharge criteria.

Recovery in Istanbul

After discharge you recover at your hotel with your coordinator available throughout. You will have scheduled post-operative checks with your surgeon, including a final review before you are cleared to fly.

Flying Home

Your surgeon confirms when it is appropriate to fly. Before you leave you receive a discharge summary, medication guidance and a written recovery plan. On the flight, keep hydrated, move regularly and wear compression garments if advised.

Remote Aftercare

Once you are home, structured follow-up continues remotely — typically through WhatsApp contact with your coordinator and scheduled video reviews with your surgeon at agreed intervals. If you have a concern, you have a clear route to raise it. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I plan?

Many patients begin with an enquiry several weeks before they hope to travel. This allows time for a specialist assessment, a video consultation, any tests your surgeon requests at home, and flexible travel planning. Some procedures and surgeons have longer waiting times.

Can I bring a companion?

Yes. A companion is welcome and, for some procedures, recommended for the first days of recovery. Accommodation and transfers can be arranged for both of you.

What documents should I bring?

Bring your passport, any relevant medical records and test results, a list of your current medications and allergies, and your travel insurance details. Your coordinator will send a checklist specific to your treatment.

Will I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend travel insurance. Standard policies often exclude elective surgery, so you may wish to look for specialist cover for medical travel and check carefully what is included.
