Intimate health, discreetly
Intimate Aesthetics in Istanbul
Intimate aesthetic and functional procedures are deeply personal decisions, and they deserve a calm, private and medically honest conversation. We help women from abroad connect with experienced, independent gynaecologists and plastic surgeons in Istanbul for confidential assessment and carefully planned care.

Women consider intimate procedures for many reasons: physical discomfort when exercising or wearing certain clothing, changes after childbirth or menopause, scar tissue from a previous tear or episiotomy, a sense of looseness, or simply how they feel about their own body. Some of these concerns have a clear functional basis; others are aesthetic. Both are valid reasons to seek information, and both benefit from a careful, unhurried assessment before any decision is made.
It is important to be transparent about the evidence. Normal anatomical variation in the vulva and vagina is wide, and the research base for cosmetic female genital surgery is still developing. Professional bodies such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) advise that women considering these procedures receive thorough counselling about normal anatomy, realistic outcomes and potential risks. A responsible surgeon will discuss your motivations, psychological wellbeing and expectations, and will sometimes recommend a non-surgical approach, pelvic floor physiotherapy or no treatment at all.
Women's Health Istanbul is an independent coordination and health information platform, not a clinic. We help you prepare for a private, confidential consultation, understand your options and plan your stay. Depending on the surgeon and procedure, treatments may be performed at leading private hospitals in Istanbul, including LIV Hospital Vadistanbul, Memorial Bahçelievler and selected Acıbadem hospitals. Every treatment plan is decided between you and your surgeon after a personal examination.

Counselling, wellbeing and realistic expectations
Before any intimate procedure, your surgeon should explore why you are considering it, what you hope will change and how the concern affects your daily life, relationships and wellbeing. This is not a barrier; it is part of safe, ethical care.
If there are signs of significant body image distress, a surgeon may suggest speaking with a psychologist first. Pelvic floor physiotherapy, treatment of an underlying medical condition or reassurance about normal variation are sometimes more appropriate than surgery.
- Normal anatomical variation in labial size, shape, colour and symmetry is wide
- The evidence base for cosmetic female genital surgery is still developing
- Sensation, sexual function and appearance outcomes cannot be predicted with certainty
- You should never feel rushed or pressured into a decision

Intimate Aesthetics: questions
Is my consultation kept confidential?
Yes. Your photographs, medical history and correspondence are handled privately and shared only with the surgeon you choose to consult. Many women prefer to send photographs through a secure channel and to discuss their concerns by video before travelling, and you may decide at any stage not to proceed.
Who performs intimate procedures in Istanbul?
Depending on the procedure, intimate surgery is performed by gynaecologists with additional training in aesthetic and reconstructive gynaecology, or by plastic surgeons with specific experience in genital surgery. We help you check each surgeon's training, registration and experience with the exact procedure you are considering.
Is cosmetic vaginoplasty the same as gender-affirming vaginoplasty?
No. Cosmetic vaginoplasty, sometimes called vaginal rejuvenation, tightens and reshapes an existing vaginal canal, often after childbirth. Gender-affirming vaginoplasty is an entirely different reconstructive operation and is not offered in this context.
What does the evidence say about cosmetic intimate surgery?
The evidence base is still developing, and long-term outcome data is limited for several procedures. Bodies such as ACOG and RCOG recommend careful counselling about normal anatomical variation, realistic expectations and risks. Some functional procedures, such as repair of perineal scarring, have a clearer medical rationale. Results vary between individuals.
How long should I stay in Istanbul for intimate surgery?
For most surgical intimate procedures, women typically stay around 5–7 days so that the surgeon can examine the area before departure. Your surgeon will advise based on the procedure, whether treatments are combined and how you are healing.
How much does intimate surgery cost in Turkey?
Costs depend on the surgeon, the hospital, the type of anaesthesia, the complexity of the procedure, whether procedures are combined, any hospital stay and your accommodation. A personalised written quote follows your assessment. Choose your surgeon and hospital based on medical quality, not price alone.
